Can you help? Have you been injured in an accident involving a FORK LIFT TRUCK?

AMPUTEE AMBASSADOR WANTED

Did you know that there is more than one serious accident per day in the United Kingdom involving Fork Lift Trucks? Were you injured in one? If so, you could really make a difference.

David McGuire is currently working on National Fork Lift Truck Safety Week, raising awareness of the dangers of these machines and the need for extreme care when working with them.

One of the ways this is done is by having regional Safety Ambassadors – accident survivors who can tell their own story, and really bring home the human cost behind the statistics.

Last year David worked with a marvellous and inspiring woman called Lisa Ramos, whose leg was amputated below, and later above the knee after she was crushed by a reversing fork lift.  Sadly this kind of injury is quite typical in such accidents, and two thirds of those affected are – like Lisa – not driving the truck at the time, but working nearby.

Lisa will be working with the campaign again but, as her input was so beneficial, David is keen to involve one or two more amputees this year who live in different parts of the U.K. and who would be willing to share their story to help to spread the safety message further.

If you have suffered an amputation as a result of an accident involving a Fork Lift Truck and might be interested in helping David with this campaign, please contact David McGuire: david@jkc.co.uk
